Feed Elephants at Sheldrick's Animal Orphanage in Nairobi

The David Sheldrick Elephant Orphanage was established in the late 1990s to cater to injured and orphaned animals to save the animal kingdom. This was a result of numerous human attacks and natural disasters to these wild creatures. The orphanage is located 3 km from the Kenyatta International Convention Center. It’s just 700 meters from the Nairobi National Park. The park mostly accommodates injured and lonely buffaloes, rhinos and mostly elephants. Having received a special honoring visit by former USA president Barack Obama, the trust has been a wild reflection as one of the best foundations that are performing well in taking care of animals.

Get to Feed the Elephants’ Calves

Buffalos, impalas and warthogs are also accommodated in the orphanage.

If you can imagine, an elephant that carries its pregnancy for almost two years. The park has played a significant role in maintaining the future of these animals. Special care is provided daily and the medical attention is maximized to make sure that they feel at home.
